What caught your attention in her resume?
In all fairness, I evaluated her based on her qualifications and experiences just like any other candidates. Her resume showed that she had experience in website designing and she was also doing part-time work in handling social media platforms. In addition, I was comforted by the fact that she has worked flexi hours in her previous company, possibly indicating that she is capable of working independently with low supervision.
What was the feedback from the Line Manager after the interview?
This is the first time we are hiring a woman returnee on flexible work arrangements so the Line Manager was open to giving it a try. Her high capability and positive attitude has also encouraged us to carve-out another position with flexible work arrangements.
What advice would you share to women aiming to return back to work?
Most of the women interviewed are highly determined, experienced and independent. It would be great if they applied for jobs which highly match their qualifications. It’s all about self-belief and seizing opportunities!
