What position did the first woman returnee fill?
Analyst, Human Resource Services.
What caught your attention in her resume?
The first thing that caught my attention was her long tenure in her previous company. It was her first job and she dedicated eight years of her career to the company before leaving the workforce to take care of her kids.
What was the feedback from the Line Manager after the interview?
HR Services, the hiring department, is supportive of this initiative to encourage women to return to the workforce. They believe that job-sharers have a higher level of productivity because the possibility of two employees going on leave simultaneously is lower.
What advice would you share with women aiming to return to work?
Do not hesitate or be afraid to make the decision to return to the workforce after a temporary career break. If you have family commitment, it is important that you make the necessary arrangements such as where to send your kids or who to pick them up in order to ensure that you are able to contribute effectively after re-entering the workforce. In addition, women should continue to equip themselves with the skills needed to keep abreast of industry developments as well as the fast-paced technology world. It is indeed amazing to see how things change and advance within a short span of time.
