Project-based Work

An employee is hired for a specific project. This arrangement is usually based on a set time frame or task that typically lasts no more than 6 months.

Important Considerations
  • Proper policy, system controls and reporting must be in place prior to implementation.

  • A degree of control over this FWA is needed depending on the company’s policies (security system, clock in hours, reporting).

  • A project-based work arrangement is typically short term, and lasts no more than 6 months at a time.

  • Standard recruitment procedures, including reference checks and background screening, should continue to be performed to ensure the individual is qualified for the role.
