School Holidays Work Arrangement

Parents with school-going children are allowed the option to work from home during school holidays.

Important Considerations
  • Proper policy, system controls and reporting must be in place prior to implementation.

  • Employees must have a significant amount of trust to successfully implement a part time work arrangement.

  • Employees have to be connected and may be contacted at all times during working hours.

  • The school holidays work arrangement is exercised when it is both productive and efficient to conduct business from home rather than commute to the regular office location during school holidays.

  • Eligible employees must have children of school going age.

  • The school holidays work arrangement is not designed to replace child care support.

  • The school holidays work arrangement is exercised with the expectation that the job responsibilities can be successfully completed within the defined time period.

  • Employees have to complete the ‘Technology Checklist’ for home equipment such as laptops and WiFi connectivity.

  • School holiday’s arrangement schedule is to be defined on a yearly basis, and application and approval process defined upfront as part of yearly business planning.
